Delivery Day

Our building material deliveries typically operate on a 1-5 working day lead time Monday – Friday (7am – 7pm). Our transport team or our hauler will contact you via email, phone call or text message to indicate the expected delivery day. If you have specific requirements please ensure to contact our team prior to the dispatch of the goods. Whilst every effort is made to ensure your materials arrive to the delivery destination as scheduled, occasionally delays do occur. Please factor this into your project schedule by allowing several extra days to ensure the materials are delivered prior to the commencement of your project. Neither we or the hauler will accept liability for loss or damage incurred by a delay in delivery irrespective of cause. Rock Salt Pallets can be delivered on a next day service when ordered before 3pm. Please consider that if weather conditions are already poor then this could affect the next day service.

Delivery Procedure - Local

Our local building material deliveries are completed using our own fleet of vehicles. Lighter materials are delivered using flat bed vans and heavier/bulkier materials are delivered using crane offload heavy goods vehicles. Deliveries are curbside only, meaning that our vehicles will maneuver road side to your property and offload the materials by hand or by crane onto the nearest sensible area of level ground within your properties boundary. Our vehicles are not permitted on private property. If it is essential for the vehicle to maneuverer onto private property, then the customer must first grant permission. Being Heavy Goods Vehicles it is possible for the vehicle to cause damage to domestic drives by its sheer weight. Customers who request our HGV’s to maneuver onto private property accept liability if any damage occurs because of vehicle weight. Drivers of OCL/Building Supplies To You crane vehicles are to operate in accordance with their professional training. Customers can request for materials to be delivered in a specific site location but it is ultimately the decision of the driver to ensure it is reasonable and safe to do so.

Once the delivery vehicle is positioned to offload the driver has a maximum of 30 mins to complete the delivery (based on one full load of 14 bulk bags – smaller deliveries are scaled accordingly). Charges will be applied if this delivery period is extended because customers require the driver to move the vehicle for split offload. Delays on site because of drivers not being able to access the site or the site not being clear and ready to accept delivery may occur additional charges. A copy of the delivery note should be left with the customer if possible or unless stated otherwise.

Delivery Procedure - National

Our nationwide building and landscaping material deliveries are completed using our network of couriers. Our national shipping is restricted to products able to fit onto a pallet e.g. bulk bags of aggregates/gravels and patio paving.

Deliveries are curbside only and completed by Heavy Goods Vehicle with a tail lift and pallet truck. Please ensure access is made for vehicles up to 32ft long and that the delivery area is level and solid enough to accommodate a pallet truck carrying up to 1000kg of weight; grass and gravel are not considered level hard standing. If the delivery area is not flat, then the customer may be required to help offload the pallet.

Please fully inspect the delivery before signing. If there is notable damage, please be sure to mark the delivery note with the words ‘Damaged’ to ensure the resolution process can be as streamlined as possible.

Please note, in the event of a cancellation, items that have already been despatched will be liable for the delivery charge and any incurred return costs. These costs will be deducted from the refund.

As is the industry norm for natural stone and concrete/clay paving and walling products please allow 10% extra when ordering for cuts, wastage, and breakages. Many of our paving and building products travel hundreds to thousands of miles from origin to your doorway, consequently it is possible that in transport chips, scuffs or cracks can occur. Of course, this is not ideal (and it must be noted that it is very infrequent) but it is the reality of the industry. As per the industry norm the first 5% of damages are not covered for refund or replacement. Anything thereafter we will do our upmost to resolve.

Non-delivery of goods / re-deliveries

Whether you have ordered locally or nationally, we hope for all deliveries to be completed smoothly. To help ensure a seamless delivery we ask that all customers make sure clear access has been made for the delivery vehicle and that a flat, hard standing area has been prepared ready to receive the delivery. Please be aware that any delays or redeliveries caused because of inaccessibility are chargeable.
